Author biography:Bashir Ahmad Hamid was born in an intellectual family in Kabul - 1972. He is graduated from Kabul medical institute as medical doctor (MD) in 1998. After that he has worked in international organizations such as World Health Organization. He had a key role in establishment of an Afghan NGO named Care of Afghan Families (CAF) on 2003 and since 2007 he was as a general director of the NGO (CAF). He has continued his education on public health through short time courses during his working in CAF; in addition he has done his Master Degree (EMBA) in Development Studies in Preston University. Beside, managing of CAF which has more then 700 employees, he has had an active role in establishment of other social associations such as FALAH association (which was established during Taliban government unfortunately was not registered), social association of cultural support, Social and health development program, Community Development Committee of Khoja Ghar district and Association for Social Development.

Bashir Ahmad Hamid believes in social development through organized efforts of people without political struggles. He believes our community has infinite potentials, but unfortunately our people pay less attention due to being busy in imitating others. They can develop their potentials through a deep and critical review of our culture and social norms to actively participate in developing the society.

To describe this idea, Bashir Ahmad Hamid with the help of other friends, wrote a book named “ASRAR-E- ROSHD SHAKHSEYAT” – Secrets of personal development – which is published in Kabul. The book describes the ways how to identify and develop potentials of ourselves.

The current book is published with the help of Social Development Association (SDA) to describe the idea of self development within a broader view - in the society. for more information please see the website self development www.selfdev.net
